They’ve released 8 albums, including the decorated Master of Puppets. It was ranked number one by Metal-Rules and IGN on their lists of greatest metal albums. It was also included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. A ninth studio album is expected to be released later this year.
